Section 1: TITLE
Teaching Responsibility to End Poverty
Section 2: FINDINGS
In order for our economy to flourish, we need to get the next generation ready and prepared to work.
However, if parents can not afford to send their children to schools, this will be impossible.
By giving parents an incentive to send their children to school, more children will be able to benefit, which in turn will benefit our economy.
Not only will these schools teach the core curriculum, but others that will enforce a work ethic and responsibilities.
By setting up certain classes that promote responsibility, children can learn the benefits of working hard. The early, the better.
Section 3: PURPOSE
The purpose of this bill is to strengthen our economy by
• Preparing the next generation of American children for the responsibility of work
• Creating a national curriculum
• Establishing special classes designed to help students develop appropriate habits and a solid ethic
Section 4: ELIGIBILITY ---change this to local communities rather than parents.
1. Communities with at least 20% of their population living low-income 2. Schools must follow all state laws- including number of sick days with checkups to make sure all laws are being followed.
Section 5: TERMS AND BENEFITS
1. The Department of Education will establish a national curriculum available to local communities.
2. Issues crucial to the community are allowed to be worked into the curriculum.
3. Internships starting in Grade 5 will be mandatory. Internship responsibilities will vary by age and capability.
-this bill should be combined with Senator Davis' bill for efficiency
